Presque Isle is a National Natural Landmark that is comprised of 3,200 acres of sandy peninsula. It is the home of the Tom Ridge Environmental Center, the Presque Isle Lighthouse, many species of birds and plants, and boasts a multitude of recreational activities like swimming, boating, fishing, hiking, bicycling, and more.

Karl Boyes Multi-Purpose Trail

Length: 13.4 mile loop

Approximate mileage from Allegheny College: 40 miles

Type: Loop

Allowed Usage: Biking, Inline Skating, Walking, Running, Wheelchair Accessible, Cross Country Skiing 

Trail Surface: Paved

This 13.4 Multipurpose trail provides a looped view around almost the entirety of Presque Isle State Park. The eastern end of the peninsula provides a road to the North Pier and a white and black striped lighthouse. The Presque Isle Lighthouse is located on the northwestern side of the peninsula. There is something for everyone at Presque Isle; the outdoors, history, many forms of recreations (Young, J., 2001).
