TRAILS OF NORTHWESTERN PENNSYLVANIA
The Woodcock Area has various unnamed trails that surround the Woodcock Dam through/to the Colonel Crawford Park (Campground). There are many different parking areas and places to explore.
Bossard Nature Trail
Length: 1.5 miles
Approximate mileage from Allegheny College: 4 miles
Type: Out and back/ Loop
Allowed Usage: Walking
Trail Surface: Trail off to the right is paved for first 1000 ft and then turns in to Natural Earth
The Bossard Nature Trails are located across the road from the Woodcock Dam. The trail off to the right is about 1.5 miles long and can be strenuous as it takes you down and up over a ravine. The trail off to the left is relatively level and short.

Woodcock Dam
Length: About 1 mile
Approximate mileage from Allegheny College: 4 miles
Type: Out and back
Allowed Usage: Walking, Running
Trail Surface: Paved
The Woodcock Dam crosses over the Woodcock Creek Lake region. It was originally created to protect French Creek from flooding.
